slow beauty// sunday salt soak

Humans have been soaking in salt-infused waters for centuries - and for good reason. Salts like Epsom and Dead Sea Salt contain many purported benefits, including minimizing inflammation, bringing balance to the skin, and restoration to sore, tense muscles.

Once a week, we like to set aside some time for a deeply restorative soak to soothe muscles and bring balance to body and mind. Fortunately, salt soaks could not be easier to make and there are countless variations depending on your mood! Our basic recipe is below, but we encourage you to change up oils, herbs, and even the salts to suit your skin and mood.

Kick-off your bathing ritual with a dry brushing session to really get your circulation going!

Ingredients:

Equipment:
  • Large bowl
  • Spoon for stirring
  • Bathtub
  • Peace + Quiet

Method:

In a large bowl, combine all of the ingredients. Mix together with a spoon to lightly combined your soak ingredients. Once your soak is combined to your liking, transfer to your warm bath. Salts will dissipate in the water, but it doesn’t hurt to swirl around a bit so they fully dissolve.

Soak for at least 20 minutes to allow the ingredients to work their magic.

Repeat weekly as a part of your self-care routine.

Make Good Tip: This soak is so fun to customize. Add different essential oils for a different scent, or add in clays for color and their drawing properties. Switch up the herbs or even experiment with seaweed. The options are endless.
